American Land Title Association (ALTA)

ALTA, founded in 1907, is the national trade association and voice of the title insurance industry.

Association for Information and Image Management

AIIM is a non-profit organization focused on management of documents, content, records, and business processes. Members are users of these systems. AIIM was founded in 1943 and is also known as the enterprise content management (ECM) association.

Fannie Mae

Fannie Mae is a government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) that works with mortgage bankers, brokers and other primary mortgage market partners to help ensure they have funds to lend to home buyers at affordable rates. They fund their mortgage investments primarily by issuing debt securities in the domestic and international capital markets.

Freddie Mac

Freddie Mac was chartered by Congress to stabilize the nation's residential mortgage markets. They participate in the secondary mortgage market by purchasing mortgage loans and mortgage-related securities for investment and by issuing guaranteed mortgage-related securities, principally those called PCs.

MERS (Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems)

MERS was created by the mortgage banking industry to streamline the mortgage process by using electronic commerce to eliminate paper. Their mission is to register every mortgage loan in the United States on the MERS System. MERS acts as nominee in the county land records so that a loan retains MERS as the mortgagee no matter how many times servicing is traded.

Mortgage Banking Association

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) is the national association representing the real estate finance industry. MBA invests in communities across the nation by ensuring the continued strength of residential and commercial real estate markets; expanding homeownership; and supporting financial literacy efforts.

Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO)

MISMO was established by the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) to coordinate the development and maintenance of Internet based Extensible Markup Language (XML) real estate finance specifications.

Progress in Lending

The PROGRESS in Lending Association provides thought leadership to lending professionals about how to create process efficiencies through a combination of sound business strategies and technology.  The ideas that come out of this association will help lenders provide a more trusted and transparent process for both consumers and investors.

Property Records Industry Association (PRIA)

PRIA is a coalition of government and business established to foster dialog among property record industry participants, to promote mutual understanding of different perspectives on issues of common interest and to develop consensus leading to shared standards and practices.
